An on-grid system implies that your solar system is connected to your utility company’s network. Further, if the user generates excess energy, it can be reverted to the grid-power company. In return, the user can build a credit that can be used to cash out at the end of the billing cycle. This process is known as net metering.

How to Choose the Right Solar System
The right system size depends on your monthly electricity consumption:
- 5-10 kW: Small to medium homes with monthly bills of PKR 15,000-40,000
- 10-20 kW: Large homes or small businesses with bills of PKR 40,000-100,000
- 20-50 kW: Commercial properties, offices, and small factories
- 50-MW-scale: Large commercial and industrial operations
On-Grid vs Hybrid vs Off-Grid
On-Grid Net Metering: Connected to the utility grid. Excess power sold back through net metering, reducing your bill to zero or earning credits. Best for areas with reliable grid power.
Hybrid: Solar panels plus battery storage. Backup power during outages while still offering net metering benefits. Ideal for areas with frequent load shedding.
Off-Grid: Completely independent from the utility grid. Requires larger battery banks. Best for remote locations without grid access.
