This Privacy Policy describes how Solar Citizen (“Solar Citizen”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our website, request a quotation or proposal, or use our solar design, installation and monitoring services. It also explains your privacy rights.

By using our Site or services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service.
  • Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our” in this Policy) refers to Solar Citizen, Suite 212-213, Floor 2, Sea Breeze Plaza, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi, Sindh 75400, Pakistan.
  • Website refers to Solar Citizen, accessible from www.solarcitizen.com.pk.
  • Service refers to the Website and the solar design, supply, installation, net-metering / net-billing processing and monitoring services we provide.
  • Country refers to: Pakistan.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company — for example equipment suppliers, installation partners, IT and analytics providers, and communication platforms — to help provide or improve the Service.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Cookies are small files that are placed on your computer, mobile device or any other device by a website, containing details of your browsing on that website among their many uses.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide, or you may share with us, information that can be used to contact or identify you and to prepare your solar proposal. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name, email address and phone number (including the WhatsApp number you contact us from);
  • Installation address, city and property details;
  • Messages and enquiries you send us through our website contact forms, WhatsApp or our AI assistant;
  • Electricity bill details and photographs of your bill or meter that you share so we can size a system and prepare a proposal;
  • Information you enter into our online solar calculator, such as your monthly bill amount, electricity usage and location;
  • Sanctioned load, DISCO/consumer number and identity documentation (such as CNIC) where these are required to process a net-metering or net-billing application on your behalf; and
  • Usage Data.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include information such as your device’s Internet Protocol address (IP address), browser type and version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When you access the Service through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including the type of device, its unique ID, its IP address, your mobile operating system and the type of mobile browser you use.

Analytics, Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate our Service, remember your preferences, and understand how our Site is used. We also use third-party analytics and advertising tools, including Google Analytics (GA4), Microsoft Clarity and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which may set their own cookies and collect usage information to help us measure traffic, improve our website and, where applicable, measure and target our advertising.

  • To prepare quotations and proposals, size your solar system and respond to your enquiries;
  • To provide and deliver our services, including surveying, designing, supplying, installing and commissioning your solar system;
  • To process regulatory applications, including net-metering / net-billing applications submitted to your electricity distribution company (DISCO) on your behalf;
  • To provide system monitoring and alerts through our Sol AI platform, including performance polling (approximately every 10 minutes) and daily WhatsApp performance reports where enabled;
  • To contact you by email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp or other electronic means about your enquiry, proposal, order or system;
  • To send you marketing and promotional information about our products, services and offers, where you have consented; you can opt out at any time; and
  • To manage your requests, comply with our legal obligations, and improve and secure our Service.

Sharing of Your Personal Data

We may share your personal information in the following situations:

  • With regulatory authorities: with your DISCO and NEPRA where required to submit and process your net-metering or net-billing application.
  • With banks and financing partners: where you ask us to help arrange financing for your system, we share the details necessary to process your application with the relevant bank or financing partner.
  • With Service Providers: equipment suppliers, installation partners, and IT, analytics and communication providers who process data on our behalf to help us deliver and improve the Service.
  • For legal reasons: where required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (for example a court or a government agency), or to protect our rights, safety or property.
  • For business transfers: in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of assets, financing or acquisition of all or part of our business.

We do not sell your personal data.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to provide our services and warranties, and for as long as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements and policies. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except where it is used to strengthen security or improve functionality, or where we are legally obligated to retain it for longer.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located, including where our service providers operate.
