Supreme Court of Pakistan Solar Installation

In 2025, Solar Citizen was selected to design and install a 100kW solar power system at the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad. This is one of the most significant institutional solar projects in the country, and it represents exactly the kind of engineering challenge that defines our approach.

Project Overview

Detail Specification
Client Supreme Court of Pakistan
Location Islamabad
System Size 100 kW
System Type Grid-tied rooftop
Panels Tier-1 N-type TOPCon
Monitoring Sol AI real-time platform

The Challenge

Installing solar on a government institution of this stature comes with requirements that do not apply to typical commercial projects. Every design decision required approval through formal channels. The building is an architectural landmark, which meant panel placement had to preserve the structure’s aesthetic integrity. Electrical integration had to meet the institution’s uninterrupted power requirements with zero tolerance for system-induced faults or outages.

The roof structure presented its own engineering constraints. Load analysis, structural assessments, and mounting design had to account for the specific characteristics of the building. Cable routing needed to be discreet and compliant with the facility’s interior standards. All work was conducted during designated windows to avoid disrupting court operations.

The Solution

Our engineering team began with a detailed structural and electrical survey. The system was designed from the ground up for this specific building, not adapted from a template. Key elements included:

Custom mounting design. Engineered specifically for the roof structure, with load calculations validated against building specifications.

Optimized panel layout. Placement maximized generation while respecting aesthetic constraints and avoiding shading from surrounding structures.

Redundant protection. DC and AC protection designed to exceed standard requirements. The system isolates cleanly in any fault scenario without affecting the building’s existing electrical infrastructure.

Full Sol AI integration. Every string is monitored individually. Performance data is tracked in real time. Automated alerts notify our team of any deviation from expected output.

Sol AI Monitoring

The Supreme Court system is monitored 24/7 through Sol AI. The platform tracks generation at the string level, compares actual output against weather-adjusted projections, and flags anomalies automatically. For an institution where reliability is non-negotiable, this continuous oversight ensures that any performance issue is detected and addressed before it becomes a problem.

Sol AI also provides the client with a dashboard showing real-time and historical generation data, system health status, and environmental impact metrics.

What This Project Represents

The Supreme Court installation is a reference project. It demonstrates that Solar Citizen can deliver on the most demanding institutional requirements in Pakistan. The combination of engineering rigor, formal project management, and continuous monitoring through Sol AI is the same approach we bring to every project, whether it is a 5kW home or a 1MW factory.

When Pakistan’s highest court needed a solar partner, they chose engineering competence over the lowest bid.
