Jubilee Spinning Mills
A 1 MW rooftop solar system powering one of Pakistan’s largest textile operations.
The Challenge
Pakistan’s textile industry is the country’s largest industrial energy consumer, and a spinning mill runs high-load machinery around the clock. At Jubilee Spinning Mills, electricity is one of the heaviest line items on the books — and with industrial grid tariffs rising year after year, every unit drawn from the grid eats directly into production margins and export competitiveness. A 1 MW installation at this scale is not a scaled-up home system; it is an industrial engineering project, with over 1,700 panels to place, full structural analysis of the mounting areas, integration into the mill’s HT/LT electrical infrastructure, and zero tolerance for interrupting a facility that operates continuously.
The Solution
Solar Citizen designed and installed a 1,000 kW (1 MW) grid-tied industrial solar system for Jubilee Spinning Mills — the largest project in our portfolio. The build used Tier-1 N-type TOPCon panels on industrial mounting structures engineered for a 25-year service life, with a multi-inverter architecture so any single string inverter can be serviced without taking the whole system offline. A phased engineering approach — expert survey, structural analysis, and electrical study before design finalisation — let us complete the work with no disruption to manufacturing. Every string is individually tracked by Sol AI, our real-time monitoring platform. Mills evaluating their own system can start with our solar calculator.
The Results
At 1 MW, the system generates enough power to offset a substantial portion of the facility’s daytime electricity demand — replacing expensive grid units with effectively free solar generation during peak production hours. Because industrial tariffs in Pakistan are among the highest of any sector, solar ROI for a textile mill is among the fastest anywhere, and the savings compound across the system’s 20+ years of post-payback life. Solar also locks in a portion of the mill’s energy cost at a zero marginal rate, insulating the business from future tariff increases. With over 1,700 panels in production, Sol AI’s per-string oversight means a single underperforming string is caught and flagged automatically — protecting the generation the investment depends on.
Why It Matters
The Jubilee Spinning Mills project shows what engineering-first solar looks like at industrial scale — the same Tier-1 standards and Sol AI monitoring we deliver on a 5 kW home system, proven at megawatt class. For Pakistan’s energy-intensive industry, it is a model: factories can turn a rising, unpredictable grid bill into a fixed, falling cost and stay competitive on the global market. Commercial and industrial solar makes the same outcome reachable for any large facility.
